According to Wrigley, 5 Gum has been around since 2007, when it became the "most exciting development of sugar-free gum since Extra."
I have a few reasons for choosing 5 Gum as my favorite, with longer lasting flavor being my #1 reason! But along with that very important reason comes a few others. For one, 5 Gum has a design on the pack that catches my eye almost automatically! With it's cool metallic design and wrapping, the gum easily stands out! Not only that but 5 Gum also has these awesome commercials, that make me want to go buy a pack right after watching them!
Furthermore, the taste is another reason I believe 5 Gum is the best! Although all three of the brands I've tested are the same flavor, 5 Gum seems to have the better tasting peppermint flavor. Plus, something that always goes with taste is texture. As I've stated before Orbit brand starts falling apart after being chewed for a short period of time. The feeling is gross and makes the gum unbearable!
Also according to Wrigley, Orbit gum has a history dating all the way back to 1944! The gum has even come as far as receiving the American Dental Association's Seal of Acceptance.
Even though that's a huge accomplishment, I'd still rather chew 5 Gum! 5 Gum is also sugar-free so there is a lower risk of getting cavities either way.
I chose Stride as my #2 because it's obviously in between the two other flavors. It doesn't get all gross, but it also doesn't last as long as 5 Gum. Also, like 5 Gum Stride has a larger variety of flavors to choose from. Minty flavored gum isn't always my go-to gum, and I'm sure some people don't even bother with minty flavors. 5 Gum has a total of 16 flavors to choose from, Stride has 19, and Orbit only has about 9 flavors. All range from minty to sweet, to both minty and sweet! To me having a larger variety to choose from is always nice!
Although the other two brands of gum are established by Wrigley, Stride isn't. The history of Stride Gum actually states that it was created by Cadbury Adams (owned by Kraft Foods). This brand of gum has been around since 2008, only a year after 5 Gum!
